Harvesting: Watermelon can be harvested once the part of the fruit touching the ground turns yellow. For better sweetness and flavor, stop or reduce watering a week before harvesting. Knock on your watermelon to check its hardness; the sound change is indicative of its maturity.

Gardening Tip: *Fruits only mature when they are attached to the vine. Hence immature fruits must be left untouched. For harvesting ripe fruits, the stem should be cut with a sharp knife about an inch away from the fruits.

Important Tips:  As Muskmelon is a climber plant, it will need staking.
